Uptown Radio & London FM

Here are a couple more FM stations from the London area from the early 80s. Uptown Radio used to broadcast every Sunday evening. I used to enjoy their entertaining shows and their signal used to come in well at my QTH just outside London. There is more about Uptown on the Surrey Sounds website. Britain Radio Int

BRI is celebrated its 30th year of broadcasting in 2010. But nothing has been heard from BRI for many years although Roger Davis is sometimes heard on FRS Holland. But here is how the station sounded in its early days. The address, of course, is no longer is use.

Radio Mundial 82/Alternative Radio Tirana

With the World Cup on at the moment in South Africa, it seemed a good time to look back to 1982 and a pirate station called Radio Mundial 82 which celebrated the World Cup of that year, held in Spain.

Following on from this recording is a spoof station called Alternative Radio Tirana, taking the mick out the shortwave station Radio Tirana - at that time the voice of the Stalinist regime that ruled Albania.
